A Celebratory Catch-Up

Hello all! If you are signed up to our newsletter then you may already have had a wee sneak peak but this post is dedicated to celebrating all that our directors have been up to. So without further adieu…

Laura has been quite the busy bee!

She has just finished up some work with DogStar Theatre Company, Laura was working on the Creative Learning and Development element of DogStar’s Arctic Winds project. She was in charge of delivering (and has since completed) a series of workshops to seven different secondary schools around the Highlands!

In addition to this Laura has been appointed as a board member of Findhorn Bay Arts. A fantastic achievement!

Most recently she was contracted by National Theatre Connections as their Mentor Director. This entailed giving youth theatre directors some support and feedback ahead of their partner theatre festivals: specifically Bathgate Academy, Triple Act Theatre Arts at Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine and Open Door Drama in Shetland.

Keira has also been very busy!

Most recently she has completed a six week stint of Assistant Directing with DogStar’s Arctic Winds project (part 1). This involved assisting with the rehearsal and recording of two new plays written by Highlands-based artists.

Keira has also been working really hard on developing Vivid Roots Collective’s PRODUCE strand – there are some really exciting things to come out of this so please keep your eyes peeled!

Sophie has predominantly been working behind the scenes with Vivid Roots Collective.

Whilst developing Vivid Roots Collective’s CONNECT strand, she has also completed a successful workshop with UHI Drama students based around Life After University; focusing on how we can use our skills, qualities and achievements to further our career in the arts.

Sophie has mainly been focusing on researching and developing ideas for potential plays in the hopes of getting them produced. Fingers crossed!

Stick around though, Vivid Roots have some really exciting things coming up so pleas keep an eye out!
